Speakeasy: combining spoken work, music and other perfomance arts

speakeasy is an exciting new project from Cardboard Citizens.  We are taking part in the Islington Word 2016 festival and we are looking for young people aged 16-25 to create the performance with us.  Together with Lyrix Organix we will combine spoken word, rap, song and theatre into a final performance at Platform Islington.

Speakeasy is a chance to get qualifications (Arts Award and PEARL Employability) as well as performance experience.  We will COVER TRAVEL and LUNCH EXPENSES.  Open to young people not in education, employment or training or who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.

The project is taking place between 10 – 6pm over the following 11 days: 11th -12th May, 17th – 19th May, 24th – 26th May and 31st May – 2nd June.

Speakeasy will take place at Cardboard Citizens, 77a Greenfield Road, London E1 1EJ.  Nearest tube Aldgate East or Whitechapel
