LGBT+ Self Defence Class

LGBT+ Self Defence Class

In support of National Hate Crime Awareness Week, Ishigaki, the UK’s largest LGBT+ martial arts club, is running a self defence class based on the principles of Ju-Jitsu.

The philosophy of Ju-Jitsu (the gentle way) is to use an attacker’s force against them, mainly through the use of pins, joint locks, and throws. It can be can be used for personal safety and self defence, by building confidence, skill and awareness, and is very effective even for smaller, less strong practitioners.

No previous experience is required, but registration is essential BOOK HERE.

National Hate Crime Awareness Week

#NHCAW stands for National Hate Crime Awareness Week.

The week of action takes place between the second to third Saturday in October each year.

It aims to bring people together, to stand with those affected by hate crime, to remember those we have lost, and support those who need our ongoing support.
